Assistant Director of Transit

The Assistant Director of Transit exercises independent judgment and initiative under the direction of and reports to the Transit Director. The Assistant Director plans, organizes, and manages the activities of North Central Area Transit to ensure that transit service is provided in the most efficient, safe, productive, and cost effective manner. Must demonstrate good judgment; an ability to be approachable and professional; excellent problem solving skills; an ability to handle multiple tasks; and an ability to be self-motivated and well organized. The Assistant Director routinely handles highly sensitive and/or confidential information and will represent NCAT in a variety of capacities. In addition, the position is responsible for employee oversight and compliance with Local, State, and Federal guidelines.

Qualified candidates must be familiar with Microsoft Office operating system (Word, Excel, etc.) and possess the ability to learn cloud-based transit scheduling program. May be required to work outside normal business hours, including nights and weekends. Some travel required.

Starting wage: $24.00 – $26.75/hour

Driver Supervisor – Full Time

The Driver Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing NCAT Bus Operators. Position duties include, but are not limited to, staffing and scheduling, training and compliance, drug and alcohol program oversight, performance reviews, and submitting monthly or quarterly budget and staffing reports. Driver Supervisor shall respond to program emergencies or crises. In addition, the Driver Supervisor may cover some job responsibilities of the Operations Manager during absences.

Qualified candidates must be familiar with Microsoft Office operating system (Word, Excel, etc.) and ability to learn cloud-based transit scheduling program. May be required to work outside normal business hours, including nights and weekends. Some travel required.

Starting wage: $19.00 – $20.15/hour

NCAT is looking for reliable, outgoing, customer-focused individuals to join our team as part-time Bus Operators or Reservation Specialists!

Bus Operators are responsible for safely and efficiently transporting seniors, people with disabilities, and general public in an NCAT vehicle in and around LaSalle County, Illinois. The Bus Operator will follow specified routes; arrive at pick up location, process fare payment, assist with loading/unloading passengers as needed, and drive passengers safely to their destination while maintaining predetermined time schedule. Starting wage is $16.45/hour, part time only. Qualified candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and Saturdays.

The Reservation Specialist processes all transportation reservation requests, changes, and cancellations received by phone, fax, email, or third party request and provides courteous and efficient customer service at all times. The position inputs information into cloud-based transportation scheduling software.  Maintains a thorough knowledge of NCAT procedures and policies to assist riders with questions or concerns. Bilingual abilities a plus. Starting wage is $14.20/hour, part time only.
